These images are of my friend Tanya, a keen surfer, an academic, a strong independent woman, and general all round top person.
I wanted to create a series that reflected who she is and one of her great loves. Tanya often talks of being out on the board as a place of refuge from the craziness of the world, the times she gets up close and personal with friendly sea creatures, and the peaceful headspace that comes from it all.
For each image, I've overlayed a scene of a surf spot here in SA that she loves to go to - Cactus Beach out west, and Middleton down on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
